Thursday 30th August, 2012

Hi, all. :)
My homework load was insanely low tonight so I finished editing the deleted scenes I mentioned in my last post and "White Flags" is now up again, several thousand words longer than before. Not all chapters have been changed - some of them I just fixed a few grammatical errors (though I doubt I've got them all) - so if you don't want to have to read through the entire thing, just to find the new parts... Chapters that have been majorly altered (anything from a few hundred words to a few thousand) are:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 17, 22, 33, 34 and 38.
I've also updated the "White Flags" Google Document in the side panel.
Enjoy! :D

Tuesday 28th August, 2012

Hi everyone.
I don't have much to say at the moment - school's busy as usual - but when I was in the process of sorting through the folders on my computer - I'd misplaced an English essay - I found an older copy of "White Flags" that contains several thousand words of deleted scenes. They're mostly in the first few chapters and they're not very good at the moment, but if people are interested, I'll edit them and add them to the story. :)
I'd hoped to have a poll but it's not working, so just leave a comment saying yes or no as to whether you're interested in reading extra scenes. :)

Saturday August 18th, 2012

Hi everyone! :D
I finished this weekend's homework much sooner than I expected and I've had a little bit of writing time...
My latest story is called "Monsters Lit By Moonlight". It's only a thousand or so words but I hope you enjoy it. As usual, the link is there on the right. :)

Here's an excerpt:

The wind blew gently, ruffling Remus’ hair like Daddy did sometimes and the leaves on the tree whispered. The gate creaked too. Remus tucked the book under his arm and lifted Daddy’s wand again so that he could see where he was going. The gate creaked again but this time, the wind hadn’t blown. Remus frowned and looked over. Something big was moving.

At first he thought it was a dog. A big, grey dog that was smiling at him. Then he knew he hadn’t seen a dog that big before and decided it must be a wolf; he and Mummy and Daddy lived right next to Hurtwood forest and wild animals wandered into their garden all the time; a family of deer had come to eat their grass while Remus had been reading that afternoon.
“Shoo,” he told it, waving Daddy’s wand.

That's all for now. :)

Saturday August 11th, 2012

Hi everyone! :)
Things have been rather busy lately, so the blog's been a bit neglected, but I'm back in business at the moment:

Firstly, I've been so stressed with schoolwork lately that I've been writing to keep myself calm. This means I've made quite a bit of progress on "Innocent", though it still won't be up until November-ish. I've also been working on another story, named "Brothers" and that one is another Short Story - about 14000 words, which I've just finished - my teachers seem to have taken pity on me and didn't give me much homework this weekend. :D The link to "Brothers" is on the right-hand-side with the rest of my stories. :)

For those that are interested, here's an excerpt from "Brothers":

“Sirius-”

“Come with me,” Sirius said. He focused on the incantation for a Permanent Sticking Charm and waved his wand in a loop around the room. I hope they like my Gryffindor banners, he thought vehemently. He glanced with a little pang at the photograph of him and the Marauders which was now stuck there for eternity but decided it was better there; he’d have the real thing, now, and Mother and Father would have a constant reminder that he was happy with the people they despised. “You don’t belong here either, Reg. It’ll be you next. They’ll make you join.”

“Sirius I can’t,” Regulus said. “Please, don’t make me choose.”

“That’s more than Father ever gave me,” Sirius said coolly.

“They’d be without an heir.”

“They don’t deserve one.”

“I can’t,” Regulus said. “And I won’t. I’m not asking you to change your mind. It’s past that, but I will ask you to respect my decision. We can still be brothers after this.”

In other news, thank you very much to those who voted in the "IF YOU COULD SAVE ONE HARRY POTTER CHARACTER, WHO WOULD IT BE?poll.
Results were fairly conclusive - you'd most like to save SIRIUS BLACK, though REMUS LUPIN was an extremely close second. Very interesting... I couldn't get the polls to work so there isn't one up at the moment, but there will be in the near future. :)

It's a long entry today, but it has been a while... :P
Bye for the next week or so!
