Hi all, another update!
Thank you to all of you who have looked at "Trainee" and a bigger thank you to those who reviewed! :D
I seem to have the writing bug again - as well as an actual bug that kept me home from school the last few days - and since I was up to date with all of my homework and had nothing to do... I wrote.
It's only a short one this time, titled "Furry Little Problem" (the title is rather self-explanatory) and I've also added it as a Google Document for anyone who's interested. :) There's a link in the column on the right, and a preview below:

Excerpt from "Furry Little Problem":

“What’s going on?” Remus asked, all traces of laughter vanishing from his face.
“We know,” James said after another glance at Sirius.
Remus blinked and his expression cleared completely. “You know what?” he asked calmly.
“Everything,” Sirius said, grinning. James elbowed him, rolling his eyes. The shaggy-haired boy scowled. “I was just trying to lighten the mood!” James sighed and Sirius gave him an apologetic look. “Fine. I’ll be serious.”
“Hard not to be, isn’t it?” James asked slyly. “It’s your name.”
“Now who’s not focusing?” Sirius shot back.
“Oops.” James gave Remus a guilty look. “Right, er... well... we know about where you go every month.”
Remus’ face was stone. “My mother’s very sick,” he said, gravely.
James smiled pityingly. “And so’s your Aunt Catherine-”
“-your Grandmother Florence-” Sirius said.
“-your cat-”
“-and your Uncle Benjamin.”
“My family are victims of a rare medical condition,” Remus said curtly.
James and Sirius sighed in unison and shared another look. “Rem,” James said gently, “your Grandmother’s died three times this year.”

That's all for the moment.
Bye for now!

Friday 12th May, 2012

Hi everyone!
School's back and, from the lack of posts recently, you've probably guessed that I've been extremely busy with school work. I have, however, been using every spare moment to try to finish "Trainee". It's a little later being uploaded than I expected (and hoped) but it's also about fifteen thousand words longer than I expected... :P
Anyway, it's up now, so check it out on the 'My Fanfictions' link on the left.

Also, I've put up a link to the "White Flags" Google Document, which can be saved as a PDF for those who are interested.

Friday 27th April, 2012

Hello! I'm still on school holidays, though not for much longer, unfortunately; I go back on Monday. :( The good news is that I've been spending quite a bit of time on the "short" story which has now grown to be over 15, 000 words long... and I'm still going!

Excerpt from "Trainee":

“I don’t know why everyone else here looks so nervous,” Sirius said quietly. Very quietly; he did not want to piss off a room full of stressed and highly competent wizards. “They’ve had twice as long to get ready for this.”
“Wishing you’d had longer, Padfoot?” James said lightly, truly meeting his eyes for the first time. Behind his glasses, James’ hazel eyes were bright, waiting to see if Sirius would rise to his bait.
Not a chance, Prongsie. “Nah. Together, remember?” he said.
“Yeah.”
“If I could have your attention, please,” said a witch’s cool, professional voice. Everyone in the room stiffened.

I hope to get it online before school goes back - I'm hopeful about getting some more done and hopefully finishing it this weekend, but we'll see.

Also, the result of this week's poll is in:

FAVOURITE 'WHITE FLAGS' PERSPECTIVE:
Tie between Lily Evans, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew.

Wednesday 18th April, 2012

Hi again! I've just started school holidays - I'm very excited for a break! - and I seem to have caught the writing bug... I haven't started my new story yet - that one's too long to be started in a two week break, but another plot popped into my head and wouldn't leave me alone until I started to write it...

It'll be a short story - only a few thousand words and I haven't got a title for it yet but it's from Sirius' point of view and it's set very early in 1980.
Keep an eye out for updates - it should be published in the next few weeks!

In other news, this week's poll has finished!
The results are as follows:

FAVOURITE HARRY POTTER BOOK:
Tie between Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

FAVOURITE (NON-SLASH) PAIRING:
Harry Potter / Ginny Weasley.

Hi all! Time for another update, I think!
Some of you may have noticed the polls on the right hand column there - I'll be changing those every week, and I'll be using your responses to make subtle changes to the way things play out in my up-and-coming story.
The results for the first set of polls are as follows:

FAVOURITE (YOUNG) HARRY POTTER CHARACTER: Tie between Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood.

FAVOURITE (YOUNG) HARRY POTTER CHARACTER: Tie between Sirius Black and Severus Snape

FAVOURITE WEASLEY: Fred Weasley.

Thank you to all of those who voted! I was certainly interested by the results and will try to incorporate your preferences into the story!

Friday 30th March, 2012

I've started this blog as a way to keep readers updated about what I'm doing, as far as writing goes, and also to get fanfiction related thoughts out of my head when I'm trying to do schoolwork.
My first announcement is that I'm definitely going to write another story - I miss all of my wonderful reviewers too much, and I miss writing too!

More excitingly, I've decided on a plot for my next story, which I will start later this year! I currently have around ten pages of notes on characters and key plot points, and ideas keep ambushing me while I'm trying to get schoolwork done. I've yet to decide if that's good or bad...

Anyway, this blog is going to be a method of communication for me from now on. For the moment, it'll be a way for me to get things out of my head, but I'll also use it to let you know when I start writing again, and (later in the year) when I start uploading chapters.

Feel free to ask me any questions about writing, about future stories (though I might not say much for fear of giving something away!), or alternatively, feel free to ignore me altogether.
